Some couples sessions just feel easy.

Photographing Sarah and Mike in downtown Aurora, Illinois was exactly that.

Sarah was all in from the start. Excited. Ready. Fully trusting the process.
Mike, on the other hand, was a little nervous. And honestly? That is completely normal.

Most people don’t wake up thinking, “I can’t wait to be in front of a camera today.” lol

But one of my specialties as a couples photographer in Aurora, IL is helping people feel so comfortable that they forget the camera is even there. <3

Some branding sessions feel aligned from the very beginning.

This was one of those.

I actually met Jailene during another branding shoot I was photographing! And I love when that happens; when one shoot turns into another - it’s just magical! Anyway, after completing a photo shoot with her, she requested to do another shoot for her permanent jewelry company.

Fact: Christmas sessions in Illinois require strategy.

Because let’s be honest… no one wants to be outside in December pretending they are not freezing.

So when this sweet family reached out wanting that cozy, at-home Christmas feel, I knew the perfect solution. I rented a beautiful studio space that gave us the warmth and softness they were envisioning. This is something I offer for winter portrait sessions, especially here in Aurora, IL where outdoor natural light sessions just are not realistic in the colder months.

And honestly? It turned out so good.

When Debi reached out about photographing Do or Dye Designs, she already had a strong and awesome vision forming! So before our session, we talked about her concept and kept refining it till it was exactly what she wanted. Bold. Editorial. Playful. Confident. She knew she did not want “basic” salon photos.
